West Babylon, NY — PRI has finished furnishing, installing, and programming the new SCADA system at Divide Tower for the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR). Seventeen RTUs have also been installed and programmed after Hicksville Station along the Port Jefferson and Ronkonkoma lines.

The upgrade allows for easier train control by LIRR supervisors over the Ronkonkoma and Port Jefferson lines. This will decrease the number of delayed trains for peak and off-peak commuters every day along this line. Tracking and communication will also be exponentially quicker and easier as a result of the new SCADA and RTUs.
