PRI’s Vito Romito Heads Communications Engineering Group

Vito Romito, Director of Communications Engineering at PRI.

West Babylon, NY—Power Resources International (PRI) is thrilled to announce Vito Romito has been promoted to Director of Communications Engineering. In this new role, Romito will be responsible for managing PRI’s Communications Engineering team, which encompasses multiple disciplines and technology specialists.

“The senior team would like to congratulate Vito on his promotion,” said Joe Morelli, COO of PRI. “Vito managed and guided the Communications Engineering team through several challenging events over the last two years. Tackling the impact of the Pandemic combined with the passing of our Senior Communication Engineer, Emil Russo, the engineering team continues to perform and hasn’t missed a step. In addition, Vito’s experience in IT project management as well as Systems and Communications Engineering are invaluable to the team and will help position PRI for even greater growth in the years ahead.”

To jumpstart this growth Romito is putting extra emphasis on training. “Whether it’s a refresher or learning a new skill, continued education is crucial to any company’s success,” he explained. “Over the last two years, we’ve maintained a focus on professional development. All our engineers have completed various training and certification courses. Our Fiber Optic technicians have earned certificates from The FOA and FIS. Our network engineers have earned their CCNA credentials, have attended industry training such as Fujitsu’s MEF training program, and are currently pursuing advanced industry certifications as well. We’ve had partner training from Atlas/IED, Harman, Genetec, Software House, Code Blue, and Siemens to name a few.”

As the point person for the Communications team, Romito plans to continue providing guidance and support for the group while also promoting the personal growth of his teammates.

“While I am the director of this group, I want my colleagues to feel empowered to use their voices – regardless of whether we’re having an internal engineering session or holding a face-to-face meeting with a customer,” Romito said. “I want to encourage a collaborative environment within the group and give our team members the support they need to take ownership of their work.”

Romito has over 20 years of experience in Information Technology, IT Project Management, Systems and Communications Engineering. Prior to PRI, Romito was the Superintendent for New Fare Payment Systems at the MTA, New York City Transit. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from St. John’s University in Queens, NY.
