PRI Updates SCADA System for 3rd Track Expansion

West Babylon, NY – PRI has designed new SCADA software to reflect the additional third track being installed between Floral Park and Hicksville as part of the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) Third Track Main Line Extension Project. Currently in Stage 2, PRI is helping to test the new SCADA system to ensure it functions properly before the Nassau 1 Interlocking cutover, which is scheduled to occur late February 2021.

PRI is responsible for the software updates and functionality of the new SCADA System in relation to the first interlocking hut, known as Nassau 1. The next location, Nassau 3, is scheduled to be performed mid-to-late 2021.

Back in 2020, all new PRI equipment was delivered to the field and all necessary software was updated as part of Stage 1 of the project.

In addition to the new SCADA software, PRI has furnished and installed a brand new Motor Generator System and Mobile Substation for this project.
